BioDiagnostics, Inc., (BDI) a leader in genetic purity and standard germination seed testing, announces that Denise Thiede, Ph.D. and Craig Nelson, have acquired ownership interest in BioDiagnostics, Inc. Quentin Schultz remains majority shareholder and will maintain his position as president.

Denise Thiede joined BDI in 2002, and is manager of Analytical Chemistry, ELISA, and Standard Seed
Testing Labs. Thiede has a Ph.D. from Michigan State University in Evolutionary Plant Biology and is a
Registered Genetic Technologist. Prior to joining BDI, Thiede conducted post doctoral research at University of California Davis and University of Pittsburgh, both funded by The National Science Foundation.

Craig Nelson joined BDI in 2002 and is manager of Electrophoresis Technologies. Nelson has a Masters of Science in Agronomy from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University. A Certified Crop Advisor, Nelson has worked within the seed industry since 1990 in various agronomy positions for Agrigenetics and Mycogen Seeds.

The BioDiagnostics’ vision has always been to grow with the seed industry, anticipate the needs of its customers, and to build better programs with advanced technologies. “This new ownership transition provides a solid foundation of local ownership that builds on our global perspective,” said Quentin Schultz, president of BioDiagnostics. “This is a logical extension of our commitment to secure the stability and long term viability of BioDiagnostics for its customers and employees.”

“Buying into BioDiagnostics affirms our confidence in the future of the seed industry and BDI’s ability to
grow with it,” said Craig Nelson. “This new partnership strengthens our core competencies in genetic
testing and fosters our strategic vision for expansion including new technologies in molecular markers
and seed health,” said Denise Thiede.

With over a decade of experience, BioDiagnostics, Inc. (BDI) is the chosen partner and trusted authority
for the seed industry, providing a complete line of genetic purity and standard seed testing services.
Backed by years of in-field agri-business experience, BDI has a thorough perspective of the
biotechnology landscape and understands current industry challenges. State-of-the-art instrumentation
throughout its 22,000-sq. ft. facility provides large scale capacity and leading testing technology to help
determine the best management practices in line development, seed production, conditioning and
inventory control.

BioDiagnostics is the nation’s first USDA accredited testing lab. For more than 10 years, BDI has continued to raise the standard in seed testing by combining professional expertise, state-of-the-art technology and expert consultation.
