October 7, 2005

The merger between Pyne Gould Guinness Ltd and Wrightson Ltd was finalised on Friday 7th October 2005 at 2pm.

PGG and Wrightson had a combined history of more than 300 years, dating from 1851 and 1841 respectively. PGG Wrightson is New Zealand’s largest – and only nationwide – provider to the agricultural sector. We offer a wide range of products, services and solutions to farmers, growers and processors in New Zealand, and to processors and end-users internationally.

PGG Wrightson draws on the knowledge and expertise of 2,700 staff – and the services of diverse business units, alliances and partnerships – to meet the needs of more than 90,000 clients across New Zealand. We also have growing operations in Australia and South America. Assets and annual turnover each exceed $1 billion dollars.

We trade under the PGG Wrightson brand in New Zealand, apart from the Lower North Island where the Livestock, Wool and Rural Supplies businesses are conducted under the Williams & Kettle brand. Our shares are listed on the New Zealand sharemarket under the code PGGW.
