Syngenta NK Brand announces 13 new hybrids with rootworm trait stacks
Golden Valley, Minnesota
January 29, 2007

Thirteen new NK® Brand corn hybrids with the triple stack Agrisure™ CB/LL/RW further expand the company’s lineup for the 2007 growing season. The new trait stack from Syngenta, which recently received registration approval from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), combines the proven season-long corn borer protection and Liberty® herbicide tolerance of Agrisure CB/LL with the superior corn rootworm control of Agrisure RW, which received EPA approval in October.

The 13 new hybrids range from an early 92 day to 114 day relative maturity and feature strong agronomic characteristics making them well adapted to a broad range of growing environments; limited quantities are available for 2007 planting.. Many of the hybrids are developed from base genetics growers will recognize for their proven performance, and they provide growers additional choices for higher yields and better returns on their acres.

Marshall Kostiuk, NK Brand corn marketing manager explains, “The powerful combination of these two Agrisure insect-control traits built into our leading genetics, along with the flexibility of the herbicide options of the Syngenta AgriEdge™ corn system, offers growers solutions for early season weed management and higher yields.

“These new NK Brand hybrids include LibertyLink® technology for a strong, alternative solution for growers managing glyphosate weed resistance or volunteer Roundup Ready® corn, especially in corn-on-corn acres.“

In addition to the new triple stack products, NK Brand also markets hybrids with Agrisure RW and Agrisure GT/RW (rootworm control plus glyphosate tolerance). For early season insect control and disease protection, all NK Brand hybrids are treated with Cruiser Extreme® 250 seed treatment.

For the 2007 season, growers who plant a corn hybrid with any Agrisure trait, including Agrisure CB/LL/RW, receive comprehensive assurances such as added protection against adverse weather conditions and other occurrences that result in trait loss. In addition, they are automatically eligible for the AgriEdge corn system, which combines premium genetics, traits and crop protection solutions to maximize yield. AgriEdge includes flexibility in crop input decisions along with additional assurances and trait reinvestments.
