Doug Sayler, a native of Freeman,
South Dakota, joins Latham
Seed Company as a district sales manager covering the
Dakotas. He is responsible for the sale of Latham brand
soybeans, including CystX® varieties with resistance to soybean
cyst nematode (SCN) and VISTIVE™ low-linolenic soybeans that can
reduce or eliminate trans-fatty acids (trans fats) in processed
soybean oil.
“Doug is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of
experience selling ag-related products and services,” says John
Latham, director of sales and marketing for Latham Seeds. “He is
known for developing strong customer relationships and has a
reputation for being a team player. We believe Doug’s experience
will greatly benefit our dealers and customers.”
Prior to joining Latham Seeds, Sayler sold AGCO farm machinery
and implements. He also has years of experience in livestock
feed sales. In addition, Sayler has served since 1981 in the
U.S. Army National Guard. As Sergeant First Class, E-7, he has
helped prepare soldiers for military service in Iraq and
Afghanistan.
Sayler will draw on his experience of attracting new business
and his demonstrated leadership to also open new markets in the
Dakotas for Latham Hi-Tech Hybrids. Latham Hybrids, L.L.C., is
an independent, family-owned seed corn company founded in 2004
by third-generation seedsman John Latham and his wife, Shannon,
and John’s brother, Chris Latham.
“I really enjoy working for family-owned companies whose
standards of performance match my own. I love working with
farmers and helping them increase their bottom line,” says
Sayler, who holds a bachelor’s degree in ag business from South
Dakota State University in Brookings. “It all comes down to
helping other people succeed, and the Lathams have a long
history of helping their dealers and their customers be
successful.”
