Pannar Seed's research facility in Brookston, Indiana to double in size
Brookston, Indiana
February 12, 2007

Pannar Seed Inc. is about to move into a new research facility at 10196 South 300 West, off State Road 18 in White County, that will double the size of its Brookston, Indiana, operations, reports manager and corn breeder Gary Stuart.

Pannar Seed Inc. performs genetic research and develops new corn inbreds and hybrids for the U.S. hybrid corn market.

“Our program expansion requires a larger facility with upgrades to accommodate the latest technology,” Stuart said. “The new building includes a clean lab, cold storage, expanded space for research activities, a maintenance shop, offices and conference room.” A second story is also available for future expansion.

Remington, Indiana-headquartered FBi Buildings constructed the 3,700-square-foot facility on the five-acre site.

“Besides every functional component, the facility has some appealing aesthetics,” said FBi’s Grant Gudeman, who coordinated the construction project. “Those amenities include decorative cupolas, windows with shutters, a 24-inch overhang, and a 6-foot by 24-foot step-down porch.”

Pannar Seed Inc., part of the Greytown, South Africa-headquartered Pannar Group founded in 1958, has operated in Brookston for more than 20 years.

Pannar Group conducts genetic research worldwide and markets its products in the U.S., European Union, Argentina, Asia and Africa.
