Canada's Western Grains Research Foundation launches new website customized for farmer audience

.

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
December, 2007

Western Grains Research Foundation (WGRF) will publicly launch its new website today at www.westerngrains.com. This website was built entirely with producers in mind. The goal is to benefit farmers with increased knowledge of:

- Who WGRF is
- How farmers’ check-off dollars are being invested
- Which wheat and barley varieties have been developed because of farmer check-off support
- Research being conducted on all crop types through the Endowment Fund
- Results of the research being conducted, and the benefits it has to producers on their farm

To get the full viewing experience some special features have been built into this site:

Graphics On/Off
For those on high speed, photos aren't a problem. For those on dial-up, the loading of photos can be quite a headache. When the graphics are selected to be off, the images are stripped from the site and only the text is displayed - dramatically decreasing load times for the viewer.
Text Size
There is nothing worse than having great information within a website, but finding the text size is too small for even the most visually keen viewer to read. Having trouble reading the text? Select one of many text sizes that works best for you. This option is located at the top of each webpage.
Print Page
Want to reference the information you read on the website away from your computer? Or pass on a story or update to someone you know? The print page option is for you. This option will save your printer ink and will make the article easier to read.
Search
Looking for something in particular within the website? Enter the term or phrase you are searching for and the search tool will show you all of the relevant pages.

WGRF is very proud to introduce its new website with more targeted information and increased usability. We hope that as members of the media you will find this to be a useful tool in researching stories about WGRF.

For information not found on our website, quotes, photos and story ideas please contact Amanda Soulodre, Communications Manager at 306-975-0365 or asoulodre@westerngrains.com.

A website is a tool that is constantly evolving and being updated, check back often to see what is new and exciting.
