Pannar Seed is pleased to
announce the appointment of Dr. Dawn Gustafson to the Huron,
South Dakota research station in the position of sunflower
breeder.
Until recently, Dawn has been a member of the Plant Science
Department of South Dakota State University (S.D.S.U). Her
background includes research and breeding in multiple crops with
her most recent focus on the corn and soybean projects. In
addition to her efforts in plant breeding, her research at
S.D.S.U. involved disease screening and management of the
regional testing program, along with specialty trait selection
and incorporation.
Announcing the appointment, Pannar General Manager Matt Foley
said, “With Dr. Gustafson’s solid background in agricultural
breeding and research, her experience will compliment Pannar
Seed’s vision of further developing and supplying superior
genetics to our customers.” He said, “As the Pannar Seed brand
continues to expand, it remains our top priority to provide
cutting edge technology, service and agronomic information
available today.”
Along with the Huron facility, Pannar research stations are
located in Boone, Iowa; Olivia, Minnesota; Kenesaw, Nebraska;
and Brookston, Indiana.
Pannar completed its national branding transition to Pannar
Seed in 2006. While relatively new to the U.S. seed industry,
Pannar was established in 1958 and today has a leading global
seed presence. Based in South Africa, the privately owned Pannar
