U.S. sunflower growers have another key tool in their box of herbicides.

DuPont has received a final label for Express® herbicide on sunflower. Express can only be used on ExpressSunT hybrids that have the Express tolerant trait.

Express controls or suppresses most broadleaf weeds including Canada thistle. Express can be applied from the 1 leaf stage up to the beginning of bud formation. Grassy weeds are not controlled by Express.

A minimal amount of acreage will be planted this season to ExpressSun hybrids in ND, MN and SD.

Production cannot be sold into the market place until PNT approval is received from Canadian authorities.

ExpressSun hybrids should be available in all production states in 2008.

This label is the result of a cooperative effort between DuPont, state university weed specialists, IR-4, the ND Pesticide Control Board and the NSA.
