A recent announcement from CSD
that they are taking up the premier seed polymer and dye
treatment from the Seedkare range doesn’t surprise
Deltapine Australia at
all.
“Deltapine developed the Seedkare
range four years ago in conjunction with Sub-Sahara and Crompton
(now known as Chemtura).” Says Mr Gourlay, QA manager for
Deltapine. “We looked at several colorant treatments from
numerous companies and after extensive trialling we selected the
most superior product on the market.” As with all research
conducted by Deltapine in Australia we looked at the various
colorants in a wide range of situations to ensure we deliver a
superior product to Australian growers.
The criteria that Deltapine used
to select the Seedkare range were:
- Appearance
- Minimum dust
- Water absorption ability
and
- Flow ability in today’s
planters
“Actually, it is ironic that CSD
are following Deltapine into the Seedkare range”, says Mr
Gourlay “because it is due to an exclusivity deal with CSD’s
existing suppliers of colorants that did not allow Deltapine
access to their product.” Deltapine were forced to find an
alternative. This actually led Deltapine Australia to select a
better product than what was considered to be the industry
standard.

Australian seed companies!” |
