Mid-West Seed Services Inc. names Multi-Species Laboratory Manager/Seed Research Associate

Mid-West Seed Services Inc. of Brookings, South Dakota is pleased to announce the addition of a Multi-Species Laboratory Manager/Seed Research Associate to our seed testing laboratory.

Larry Prentice, Registered Seed Technologist, (RST) will be joining MWSS in December as Multi-Species Laboratory Manager/Seed Research Associate. Larry Prentice has 30 years of experience within the seed industry. Larry has an emphasis in seed testing, certification, records management, field inspection, computer network administration, and O.E.C.D. program administration.

Larry Prentice received his Associate of Science at Olympic College in Bremerton, WA and his B.A. at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA with a Biology major and Chemistry Minor. Larry then received his Master in Crop Production /Seed Physiology at the University of Nebraska. Prentice has been an active member of the Association of Official Seed Analysts, Association of Seed Certification Agency, and the Society of Commercial Seed Technologists..

Larry Prentice will have the key role of managing daily operations of the Multi-Species Laboratory to include purity, germination, tetrazolium, herbicide and vigor testing. Larry will also be involved in test development research and work closely with the MWSS contract research project team. The MWSS Multi-Species laboratory tests over 20,000 samples annually on 500+ species for customer in 43 states, Canada and several other countries.

Mid-West Seed Services Inc. specializes in seed testing and quality assurance services. MWSS is an International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) accredited laboratory, as well as ISO 9001:2000 certified.
