7 CFR Part 319
[Docket No. 05-068-2]
Importation of Peppers From the Republic of Korea
AGENCY: Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, USDA.
ACTION: Final rule.
SUMMARY: We are amending the fruits and vegetables regulations
to allow the importation into the continental United States of
peppers from the Republic of Korea under certain conditions. As
a condition of entry, the peppers will have to be grown in
approved insect-proof, pest-free greenhouses and packed in
pest-exclusionary packinghouses. In addition, the peppers will
have to be safeguarded against pest infestation during their
movement from the production site to the packinghouse and from
the packinghouse to the continental United States. This action
will allow for the importation of peppers from the Republic of
Korea into the continental United States while continuing to
provide protection against the introduction of quarantine pests.
DATES: Effective Date: June 21, 2006.
