Iowa State University's Master of Science in Agronomy distance education program receives innovation award

The Iowa State University Master of Science in Agronomy distance education program has received the 2006 Innovator's Award from the Iowa Distance Learning Association (IDLA).

The award honors contributions to distance learning through outstanding teaching; program design and development; innovations in methods, technique, and technology; and advocacy. The award was presented April 28 at the association's spring conference in Cedar Rapids.

The Iowa State University Master of Science in Agronomy program is a complete master's degree program accessible through the Internet and CD-ROM. The program emphasizes problem-solving and professional skills and provides basic technical and applied knowledge in crop, soil and environmental science. 

The IDLA (http://www.idla.org/) is a nonprofit association that promotes the development and application of distance learning to education and training.
