Time has come to select improved varieties for sowing of rabi-pulses. Farmers are advised to adopt improved varieties of rabi pulses according to target areas (rainfed and semi irrigated conditions) for getting upto 30 per cent higher yield over traditional varieties.

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) has developed new varieties of pulses for rainfed and semi-irrigated conditions for targeted areas.
