New canola guide for Western Australian growers
June 21, 2006

A new GRDC-supported booklet, "Growing Western Canola", contains 60 pages of agronomic information on variety selection, establishment, nutrition, integrated pest management, harvesting, storage and markets.

John Duff, lead editor and executive officer for the publisher, Oilseeds Western Australia, said fuel and other specialty uses were driving an exciting future for canola and in the past five years Western Australia has been Australia's most consistent producer.

"The booklet, based on 30 years of growing and researching canola in Western Australia, is an important base component of a Western Australian grower's package, which also includes the GRDC-supported Oilseeds Western Australia 2006 seasonal update, case studies, variety trials, benchmarks and the Canola Ute Guide," Mr Duff said.
