Mid-West Seed Services, Inc. announces NIR, NIT calibration program for corn, soybean and wheat seed
Brookings, South Dakota
July 24, 2006

Mid-West Seed Services, Inc. (MWSS) has developed an instrument calibration program that will allow NIR and NIT users to monitor their calibration equations on corn, soybean and wheat seed. Companies participating in the CalCheck program will be able to compare their NIR or NIT estimated seed composition results against reference samples evaluated with wet chemistry as well as against other NIR or NIT machines.

Mid-West Seed Services will periodically ship reference samples to participants for instrument analysis. Those participating will be given a code for each instrument to identify their results. Results can be submitted online via www.mwseed.com and then MWSS will summarize all participants’ results (listed by instrument code).

Wet chemistry results of the same samples will also be displayed online. Online results will help each participant determine if their NIR or NIT instruments are performing within an acceptable deviation from the average.

For more information, please contact Angela Carlson, Analytical Laboratory Coordinator at 877-692-7611 or angelac@mwseed.com
