Genesis Seeds Ltd.,
the Israel-based seed company,
has unveiled its extensive research
and development program to the public, detailing plans for new
and improved varieties in three seed categories: Herbs, Flowers
and Vegetables. During ASTA's 45th Annual Vegetable & Flower
Seed Conference in Amelia Island, FL, the company will make available a 4-page, forward-looking information
leaflet detailing its various advanced development plans, most
already in progress.
Genesis’
in-house research and development team has teamed up with
world-renowned research establishments such as ARO (Israel’s
Dept of Agriculture Agricultural Research Organization) and “The
Faculty” (Hebrew University’s Faculty of Agricultural, Food and
Environmental Sciences).
“Although
Genesis Seeds is not a large company, we are fortunate to be
able to tap into Israel’s community of world renowned
agricultural development scientists to enhance our R&D program”,
said Dr. Isaac Nir, President and co-founder of Genesis Seeds,
himself a long-time veteran of agricultural development. “Our
close cooperation with these and other developers has already
shown great results. Some of our most successful products, such
as our F1 herbs and flower product lines, have been developed
this way and already enjoy broad market acceptance.”
Genesis
Seeds Ltd. has invested substantial financial and professional
resources in researching and developing new products and new
production techniques in areas including: variety breeding and
selection, seed production and organic growing methods in
different micro climates.
