Dairyland Seed
recently announced the National and State winners for its annual
Corn and Soybean Yieldmaster Contests.
The title of National Corn Yieldmaster was
awarded to Doug & Dan Bush of Fulton, IL. Doug and Dan had a
yield of 263.46 bushels per acre with Stealth-1706. Mike Thill
of Lena, IL, was awarded National Soybean Yieldmaster with a
yield of 83.59 bushels per acre with DSR-218.
The Early Zone Soybean Yieldmaster was awarded to
Bob Schefers of Sartel, MN, with a yield of 65.19 bushels per
acre with DSR-130/RR, and the Early Zone Corn Yieldmaster was
awarded to Tim Berntson of Buffalo, North Dakota, who entered
Stealth-8194 with a yield of 242.85 bushels. Individual state
winners were also awarded.
According to Tom Strachota, CEO, “These are
fabulous yields from outstanding producers. Our goal is to
develop improved genetics because I know these producers have
the capability of hitting even higher yield levels. With 15% of
our revenues invested in research, I’m confident that together
we can accomplish this goal.”
Dairyland Seed recently celebrated its 95th
Anniversary in 2002. Dairyland spends 15% of its revenues on
plant breeding and is the only family-held seed company with
breeding in hybrid corn, alfalfa and soybeans. |
