Bayer CropScience's Liberty herbicide offers corn growers a better value for weed control
Research Triangle Park, North Caroilina
December 22, 2006

Save up to $6.25 per acre while controlling more than 120 broadleaf weeds and grasses

U.S. corn growers wishing to manage weed-resistance concerns without giving up the convenience of a non-selective herbicide system can do both more economically in 2007. By using Liberty® herbicide on LibertyLink® hybrids from participating seed companies, corn growers will receive up to $6.25 per acre from Bayer CropScience.

Along with this tremendous savings, corn growers can get the convenience and efficacy of the only true alternative to Roundup Ready®.

The 32 oz/acre rate of Liberty controls up to 120 tough grasses and broadleaf weeds — that includes glyphosate-resistant and tolerant weeds and even Roundup Ready volunteers. Liberty is effective on tough-to-control weeds like woolly cupgrass, waterhemp, cocklebur, lambsquarter, foxtail, velvetleaf and many others.

Liberty and the LibertyLink system also offer rotation alternatives to RoundupReady and conventional corn.

“By rotating LibertyLink and Roundup Ready, you can better manage weed-resistance issues or minimize their potential occurrence,” says Andy Hurst, product manager for Liberty herbicide, Bayer CropScience. “In the process, you will help keep both systems viable for years to come.”

The LibertyLink trait is available in all Herculex® and Agrisure™ CB/LL hybrids.

Numerous seed companies, including Pioneer, NK, Garst, Golden Harvest, Mycogen Seeds, Wyffels, Curry, Croplan Genetics and others are participating in the program.
