Brian Roth named Golden Kernel Award winner, Stauffer Seeds’ highest honor
Omaha, Nebraska
August 30, 2006

As a Stauffer Seeds dealer, Brian Roth works hard to see beyond the sale of seed and looks for ways he can add further value to his customer relationships. “I like visiting with farmers and experts so I can help them with different aspects of their business, not just seed, to help farmers grow their net income,” he explained.

This emphasis on helping his customers achieve greater success was rewarded at Stauffer Seeds annual meeting in Omaha when Roth received not only sales achievement awards, but the company’s Golden Kernel Award as well.

“Our Golden Kernel award winner is the dealer who stands out from his peers in his dedication not only to sales, but all of the efforts made to go the extra mile for his customers,” stated Mike Smidt, Stauffer Seeds director of sales and marketing. “Brian’s commitment to his customers and seed business stands out. We are honored to have him on our team.”

As a farmer himself, Roth knows how well Stauffer products perform. “I think we’ve got a really good product line. It will compete with any corn seed companies out there,” he observed. “The product sells itself – I just get it to the people so they can see it.”

Part of Roth’s success comes from his efforts to participate in area test plots and place Stauffer Seeds signs on fields in the area. “If I’m planting it on my own farm, people should feel comfortable planting it on theirs, too,” he remarked. “I wouldn’t be planting it on my own farm if I didn’t believe in it. I can try different varieties a year ahead of time and take information on what I’m growing and share this data with my customers.”

Roth has been a Stauffer Seeds dealer for three years. What began as a sideline for him has grown to be a primary occupation. He holds an annual field day and appreciation dinner for customers and prospects, eager to share the Stauffer Seeds story and product line. “These are really good people and I’ve been treated very well,” he stated.

Roth and his wife, Joanne, reside near Two Buttes, Colorado. When they aren’t farming, the enjoy travel and growing his Stauffer Seeds dealership.
