Iowa State University Extension's Ag Decision Maker website features expanded agricultural law section
Ames, Iowa
April 12, 2006

The latest issues in agricultural law appear regularly on a frequently updated Iowa State University Extension website.

The Iowa State Agricultural Law Program has developed an expanded section as part of the Ag Decision Maker website, which provides a wealth of agricultural business information. Roger McEowen, Leonard Dolezal Professor in Agricultural Law, offers commentary on recent legal opinions from Iowa courts and summaries of opinions of other U.S. federal and state courts of primary importance to agriculture.

Items of current interest to farmers, farm consultants, practitioners and others interested in agricultural legal issues are also available, including information on taxes, contracts, legal terms and business arrangements.

The site can be reached directly at: http://www.extension.iastate.edu/agdm/wdlegalandtaxes.html

The Ag Decision Maker website (http://www.extension.iastate.edu/agdm) is designed for farmers, lenders, farm managers and other professionals involved in agriculture and/or the representation of agricultural clients. It offers a wide range of business information on legal and tax issues, marketing, leasing, land values, costs and returns and new business development among other topics.

The website is updated frequently and interested persons can sign up to receive a free monthly e-mail notification of the items that have been added to the site during the previous month. The e-mail sign up is available by accessing Ag Decision Maker's homepage and clicking on "Current Newsletter and Updates" at the top of the page. Sign up is also available by sending an e-mail to: agdm@iastate.edu.
