Tom
Ireland joined the
Stauffer Seeds team this month as a district sales
manager serving seed dealers and growers in northeast and
north central South Dakota.
“This
company appealed to me,” Ireland remarked. “I know several
of the individuals working with Stauffer Seeds and felt it
was a better fit for me than my previous employer. This is
an American and family-owned company that’s independent and
growing.”
“Stauffer
Seeds is proud to have Tom Ireland represent our company in
northeast and north central South Dakota,” stated Mike
Smidt, Director of Sales and Marketing for Stauffer Seeds.
“Tom’s experience and understanding of his territory will
help us re-introduce the Stauffer Seeds brand in the
region.”
Ireland
joins Stauffer after spending eight years as a district
sales manager for a competitor. He grew up in the seed
business, observing his father who was a district sales
manager for a seed company and other agribusinesses. “I
enjoy meeting people and working outdoors,” Ireland stated.
“This job gives me the opportunity to do many different
things. At harvest, I enjoy going out with growers and
getting results. With Stauffer Seeds, the company is
independent and free from corporate pressures. We have the
ability to deal with many genetics suppliers and trait
developers. Stauffer has a very competitive line up I look
forward to representing in South Dakota.”
When
Ireland isn’t working, he enjoys hunting and fishing. He’s
also a coach for this 10-year old daughter, Allison’s,
traveling basketball team. Ireland resides in Watertown.
