Soybean growers who have the potential and
the motivation to become leaders in agriculture are invited
to apply for the 2006 Young Leader Program. The program -
sponsored by the Ontario
Soybean Growers and DuPont Canada - is open to both
individuals and farm couples looking to improve their
leadership abilities.
"The Young Leader Program is an excellent
opportunity for soybean growers looking to 'make their mark'
on agriculture," says Greg Devries, Chair of Ontario Soybean
Growers. "We'll be looking for growers who really want to
make a difference and who are willing to step up and learn
what it takes to be a leader."
One individual or couple will be selected
from Ontario to participate in a challenging and educational
two-part leadership training program along with Young Leader
representatives from throughout the United States. The first
phase runs from February 28 to March 4 2006, in Anaheim,
California, coinciding with the Commodity Classic Conference
and Trade Show. A second phase of leadership training will
be held in December 2006 at Pioneer headquarters in Des
Moines, Iowa.
Applications from individuals or couples must
show innovative and assertive leadership qualities, active
support for agriculture, and demonstrate natural resources
stewardship using best management and conservation
practices.
Applications for the 2006
Young Leader Program are available on OSG's website,
www.soybean.on.ca or by phoning the OSG office at
