Quality Assured Seeds Inc. grows into FarmPure
Regina, Saskatchewan
October 20, 2005

Western Canadian farmers are seeking access to higher value markets. Enter FarmPure™, an enterprise dedicated to environmentally and commercially sustainable agriculture by creating value chains for discerning niche markets.

The board of directors and shareholders of Quality Assured Seeds Inc. (QAS) have approved an exciting new growth plan for the western Canadian pedigreed seed commercialization company. QAS has become FarmPure Inc., the sole shareholder of FarmPure Beverages™, FarmPure Financial™, FarmPure Foods™, FarmPure Global™, and FarmPure Seeds™. The newly formed structure will allow the ‘FarmPure™ Family of Companies’ to leverage their core seed commercialization business into niche value chain initiatives domestically and internationally.

FarmPure Inc. will be led by CEO Trenton Baisley (formerly the CEO of QAS) with the following initial appointments: Gregor Gmerek moves from Chief Financial Officer of QAS to Chief Financial Officer FarmPure, Carl Flis moves from Manager of Marketing and Operations of QAS to General Director of FarmPure Global Inc., and Debbie Stiles becomes General Manager of FarmPure Seeds Inc.

“We want to focus on opportunities that break the cycle of diminishing commodity returns,” explains Baisley.  “Our product is pedigreed seed and our business is value creation.”

The creation of the FarmPure™ Family of Companies provides the structure necessary to fulfill its vision of “creating the most profitable and sustainable value chains in the world for their stakeholders and customers”.
