Fielder’s Choice Direct expands lineup for 2006: 37 new hybrids and more technology choices

A total of 37 new hybrids highlight the 2006 seed corn lineup from Fielder’s Choice Direct®, the nation’s 9th largest seed corn company and the innovator of direct-to-the-farmer seed corn sales.

Fielder’s Choice will offer corn growers 121 hybrids for the 2006 growing season, according to Dennis Schlott, vice president of sales and product management. “We’ve increased our commitment to testing and expanded our hybrid advancement program every year since 2000. This has resulted in an expanding range of high performance hybrids and the latest technology traits and seed applied treatments,” he says.

“We offer corn growers every technology trait on the market today,” Schlott says. “Growers can
select from individual, stacked traits, or the new triple stacked combinations of Roundup Ready®, YieldGard® Corn Borer, YieldGard® Rootworm, or YieldGard® Plus. Also available in the lineup are
CLEARFIELD®, LibertyLink® and Herculex™ hybrids.”

Schlott adds that Fielder’s Choice also offers 83 hybrids with Poncho® seed-applied insecticide and 48 hybrids with Intellicoat® Early Plant® seed coating, which enables growers to plant as much as four weeks earlier without the risk of chilling injury.

The 2006 Fielder’s Choice lineup offers hybrids with maturity ranges of 80 to 119. Many of the new hybrids for 2006 are have stacked trait technology: 10 new YieldGard Corn Borer/Roundup Ready stacked hybrids, 4 new Rootworm/Roundup Ready stacked hybrids and 4 new YieldGard Plus/Roundup Ready triple stacked hybrids, with maturity ranges of 83 to 118.

For forage producers, Fielder’s Choice offers six corn hybrids with NutriDense®, as well as eight Harvestar® alfalfa varieties, including a new msSunstra® hybrid alfalfa.
