Western Seed
Americas, Inc. has moved into its new corporate headquarters
at 303 South Collins Street, Plant City, Florida. This
beautifully restored commercial building, in the historic
downtown business area, doubles the office space, provides
increased storage and order processing capacity, and will house
a seed testing laboratory. The current headquarters is Westport,
Connecticut.

provides everything needed to support the long-term growth plans
of our Americas operations,” said Alois van Vliet, Managing
Director of the Western
Seed Group Companies. “Additionally, with a mild subtropical
climate
and history of agricultural excellence it is the ideal location
for expansion of our vegetable research and development
programs, including high-performance greenhouse varieties.”
Western Seed Americas will continue to operate under the
direction of its current management team, which has been
reinforced with the recent appointment of J. Michael Chisholm as
Director Operational Services. Mike is well acquainted with
Florida agriculture. As an agricultural economics major of the
University of Florida, he spent his summers working on tomato
farms, citrus groves and plant nurseries. Mr. Chisholm was
previously employed by Agrisales, a leading Southeastern seed
distributor. He joined the company in 1995 and has held a
variety of sales and marketing positions, including the
development of Agrisales’ e-business efforts. Mike also worked
as a special assistant to the president, gaining fast experience
in logistics, planning and general administrative functions.
