January 25, 2005

Chromatin Inc. announced today that the company has hired Joseph Feldman, formerly with Monsanto, as vice president of business development.

“The key for Chromatin is to execute on all fronts and Joe brings the ability to negotiate partnerships that will give us channels to market,” said Mich Hein, president and CEO of Chromatin. “Joe was responsible for putting together some very important relationships during his days with Searle and Monsanto. He is talented at closing deals that create value for biotech companies and their customers.”

Feldman spent more than twenty years with Monsanto Company, where he held the position of vice president of business development for Searle Pharmaceuticals.

Prior to joining Chromatin, Feldman was vice president of corporate development for First Genetic Trust where he was responsible for establishing their initial business relationships with pharmaceutical companies and medical research institutions.

“Chromatin’s mini-chromosome technology offers tremendous opportunities for companies to speed product development, improve agricultural performance, and deliver new products,” said Feldman. “Development and commercial relationships with leading companies will enable the application of mini-chromosomes in a wide range of products. This will enable us to bring tangible value to farmers, seed companies, and consumers.”

Feldman’s experience includes business development, strategy development, financial operations, and international responsibilities. He earned a B.S. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
