Dr. Dan Krieg will be joining
Delta and Pine Land
Company in a consulting role effective immediately. With
extensive knowledge and experience in physiology and agronomy,
Krieg will play an additional role in interactions with the
company's customer base, particularly in the Texas High Plains.
Randy Dismuke, D&PL senior vice president, said Krieg's pending
retirement from Texas Tech was an opportunity for the company to
broaden the access customers have to physiology experts. Krieg
has been with Texas Tech throughout his professional career,
culminating with the position of Leidigh professor of crop
physiology, a position he's held since 1996.
"When customers have a question about agronomy or plant growth,
we have a team of experts that customers can access. Dan Krieg
will join that effort participating in grower meetings and
providing another viewpoint when customers confront
problem-solving in the field," Dismuke said.
Krieg earned both his bachelor in agronomy and his doctorate in
plant physiology at Texas A&M University. He has directed the
graduate studies for more than 50 students during his tenure at
Texas Tech. A host of honors and awards have been bestowed on
Krieg during his career including the Beltwide's Cotton
Physiology Outstanding Research Award, the Texas ag consultants
Outstanding Public Service Award, and Texas Tech's President's
Excellence in Teaching Award. He is a fellow in the American
Society of Agronomy and a charter member of Texas Tech
University's Teaching Academy.
