Bev Larson, NK Brand Seeds' Manager of Advertising and Public Relations, receives Marketing Communications Award of Excellence

Golden Valley, Minnesota
December 5, 2005

Bev Larson of NK® Brand Seeds recently received the National Agri-Marketing Association’s 2005 Professional Development Award of Excellence for Marketing Communications during the annual Agribusiness Forum in Kansas City, Mo.

Based in Golden Valley, Minnesota, Larson serves as Manager of Advertising and Public Relations for NK Brand Seeds, ensuring the latest news and information is effectively and efficiently shared with customers.

The National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) recognized Larson for her part in the successful navigation of NK Brand communication needs in a year of acquisitions by Syngenta Seeds. NK Brand Seeds is an independent brand of Syngenta Seeds, and for more than 100 years, has been a trusted hybrid corn, soybean and alfalfa seed supplier.

While Syngenta Seeds introduced a three seed brand approach to the marketplace, Larson helped develop an advertising and communications program that maintains NK Brand’s points of differentiation, yet supports Syngenta Seeds overall goal of providing choices for growers through multiple brands.

“Our job is to make sure NK Brand communications stand out in grower’s minds, allowing them to easily access clear information about their choices,” Larson said. “Through an integrated communications plan, we work to reach our audiences on every level – local, regional and national.”

With more than 25 years experience in media relations, advertising and marketing with Syngenta Seeds, Larson’s accomplishments span a much greater time than just the last 18 months of marketing challenges.

“Bev has been an integral component of the success of NK Brand and its legacy companies, as well as Syngenta Seeds as a whole,” said Doug Knight, NK Brand marketing head. “We are proud that NAMA has chosen to recognize her efforts with such a prestigious award.”

The National Agri-Marketing Association is a non-profit organization of more than 3,500 professional and student members, serving the food and fiber industry.  Focused on its members’ professional development, NAMA provides access to solutions and opportunities in agribusiness.
