Turf-Seed launches informational website on Sea Spray, first seeded seashore paspalum
Hubbard, Oregon
August 31, 2005

Intended as a tool for golf and turf professionals, Turf-Seed, Inc. today launched www.seasprayinfo.com, a Web site that provides in-depth information about Sea Spray, the first seeded seashore paspalum.

In addition to the latest research studies, tips on how to manage seashore paspalum and answers to some of the most frequently asked questions, the Web site also features a discussion board where professionals can talk about Sea Spray and post specific questions about the variety for Turf-Seed, Inc. experts to answer.

“Seeded Sea Spray is a more economical solution for turf managers desiring the advantages of seashore paspalum. Because this is the first time seeded seashore paspalum is available, we understand there will be questions about the grow in process and how to effectively manage the variety,” said Bill Rose, president of Turf-Seed, Inc. “We want to provide turf managers with information that’s not only easy-to-access, but also open and honest.”

Sea Spray is the turfgrass industry’s first variety of seeded seashore paspalum. Developed by Pure-Seed Testing, Inc. in cooperation with the University of Georgia, Sea Spray prefers soils with moderate to high salinity with a pH range of 4.5 to 9.0. It is excellent for use on turfgrass areas irrigated with effluent water or those that are subject to naturally high saline conditions.

US patent application no. 10/941,151 was filed for Sea Spray on
September 14, 2004.

Turf-Seed, Inc. is the leading producer of quality commercial turf grasses for the green industry.
