Mycogen Seeds adds
eight new Atlas™ brand soybean varieties to the
product lineup for the 2006 growing season. These varieties all
include Roundup Ready® herbicide tolerance.
“We are excited to offer these new Atlas brand
soybean varieties to help meet the diverse needs of soybean
growers,” says Keith Porter, Marketing Specialist, Mycogen
Seeds.
New Soybean
Varieties
As the earliest maturing variety from Mycogen
Seeds, 5B004RR, which is a relative maturity Group 00 soybean,
features excellent tolerance to iron deficiency chlorosis (IDC)
and tolerance to white mold. It has very good emergence and
lodging resistance gives it great adaptation to narrow rows.
5B053RR is a medium-tall variety with a thin
canopy that features excellent tolerance to IDC. It has both
genetic resistance and good field tolerance to Phytophthora.
This variety shows excellent emergence for no-till drilling.
5B110RR has very good field tolerance to
Phytophthora and has shown excellent yield stability. It is
a medium-height variety with a medium-bushy canopy that features
excellent IDC tolerance.
5B141RR is a medium-height variety with a bushy
canopy that offers superior yield performance. It has both
genetic resistance (Rps1k) and good field tolerance to
Phytophthora.
Offering excellent cyst nematode resistance,
5N152RR is a medium-tall variety with a medium-bushy canopy that
features excellent yields.
5B244RR is a tall, medium-bushy variety that
offers outstanding yields. It has excellent emergence and
lodging resistance and is a strong choice for both no-till and
wide rows.
Resistance to cyst nematode is a feature of
5N290RR. It also carries very good Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS)
tolerance and performs well in tough conditions.
5N382RR is a stacked STS (Sulfonylurea Tolerant
Soybean) variety that offers a great package of defensive traits
along with competitive yields. It features strong resistance to
cyst nematode. 5N382RR has both genetic resistance and strong
field tolerance to Phytophthora.
“These new soybean varieties offer the latest in
disease and herbicide resistance technology,” concludes Porter.
“This will help provide growers with the finest products
available for the 2006 growing season.”
