Bayer CropScience has agreed to supply Cheminova with its Imidacloprid insecticide as part of a multi-year, non-exclusive supply contract for agricultural and non-agricultural applications (excluding Animal Health uses). The agreement has been signed as of April 18, 2005. The terms of the agreement are confidential.

The active ingredient Imidacloprid was discovered by Bayer CropScience and is today one of the most successful in the world. Through the supply agreement, Bayer CropScience and Cheminova aim at further expanding the market for Imidacloprid-based applications by drawing on the strength of their respective distribution channels.

Imidacloprid belongs to the chloronicotinyl class of substances and protects more than 140 crops against many sucking insects. Bayer CropScience will continue to actively market its Imidacloprid-based product line in more than 100 countries. Cheminova will develop and commercialize their own range of products based on Imidacloprid, beginning in some countries and markets in 2005.

Bayer CropScience kündigt Liefervertrag mit Cheminova für Imidacloprid an

Bayer CropScience wird Cheminova im Rahmen eines mehrjährigen nicht-exklusiven Liefervertrags mit Imidacloprid für Anwendungen im Agrar- und Nicht-Agrarmarkt beliefern. Davon ausgenommen sind Anwendungen für den Bereich Tiergesundheit. Das Abkommen wurde am 18. April 2005 geschlossen. Die Einzelheiten der Vereinbarung sind vertraulich.

Das Insektizid Imidacloprid wurde von Bayer CropScience entdeckt und gehört heute zu den erfolgreichsten Wirkstoffen weltweit. Mit dem Liefervertrag wollen Bayer CropScience und Cheminova den Markt für Anwendungen auf Imidacloprid-Basis weiter ausbauen, indem sie die Stärke ihrer jeweiligen Vertriebskanäle nutzen.

Imidacloprid gehört zur Stoffklasse der Chloronicotinyl-Verbindungen und schützt über 140 Nutzpflanzen gegen viele saugende Insekten. Bayer CropScience wird seine auf Imidacloprid beruhende Produktlinie weiterhin in über 100 Ländern aktiv vermarkten. Cheminova wird ab 2005, zunächst in einigen Ländern und Märkten, ein eigenes Produktsortiment auf Imidacloprid-Basis entwickeln und vermarkten.
