Devesh Singh, West Coast Research Manager for
Barenbrug
USA, has been promoted to Director of
Research. Devesh has been in agricultural research for ten years
and with Barenbrug USA for three years. Devesh replaces Gerald
Van’t Klooster, who has joined Barenbrug Europe as a Product
Development Manager.
Barenbrug USA’s primary research center is in
Albany, Oregon. Devesh’s main focus is to manage and direct the
worldwide resources of Barenbrug Research for the development of
turf grass varieties, which meet the needs of the US customers.
Devesh’s goal is to develop innovative
products like RTF that enhance the versatility of a turf grass
species. Barenbrug Research cooperates actively with university
research and extension personnel to improve the technology
transfer process and subsequent feedback from the end-users.
Devesh will continue the Barenbrug tradition of a cutting-edge
breeding program to develop turf grasses that perform when
subjected to extremes of traffic, wear, and climate. Great
emphasis will be given to research projects that aim at
developing low input turf grasses such as Barkoel that provide a
balance of environmental stewardship and high expectations of
turf users. Regionally applied research projects will be an
integral part of the program throughout the United States.
