Fontanelle Hybrids’s new products add depth to line up
Fontanelle, Nebraska
September 13, 2004

“We believe in offering our customers products that will be a true value for their farming operation,” Dave Monke, Fontanelle production manager said. “That’s why a majority of the new products we are adding to our line up this year are trait products—most of which expand our line up by adding hybrids in maturities where our customers needed that fit.”

In addition to matching customer needs by spreading maturity, Fontanelle Hybrids introduced four hybrids with the new YieldGard Plus® technology. “We’ve been watching this new technology in the field all year,” Monke said. “We’ve been out digging roots and comparing the High Cycle by Fontanelle YieldGard Plus hybrids with other rootworm control mechanisms. It’s been amazing to see the visual difference this trait shows in the field. From the comments we’re hearing, our customers are seeing this difference too. We’re excited to see the increased yields from this product when harvest starts this fall.”

“We are also looking at the option of producing the upcoming triple stack of YieldGard Corn Borer, YieldGard Rootworm and Roundup Ready hybrid this winter pending government approval,” Monke said. “It’s another step in offering our customer value added products.”

Here’s a breakdown of the 28 new products Fontanelle introduced this year: in corn, four YieldGard Plus hybrids; two YieldGard® Corn Borer resistant hybrids; three Roundup Ready® 2 hybrids; four stacked hybrids with YieldGard Corn Borer and Roundup Ready 2; two Herculex™ I Insect Protected hybrids; one waxy hybrid; one white hybrid; and four conventional hybrids; in soybeans, six Roundup Ready varieties; and one grain sorghum.
