E.3. General description of the product
(a) Name of recipient or parental plant and the intended function of the genetic modification: Recipient plant is Dianthus caryophyllus L. (UK carnation, NL anjer, ESP clavel). The two product lines of the present application consist of varieties in which the flowers have a modified flower colour as the result of genes enabling the biosynthesis of delphinidin pigment in the flowers. The flowers also carry an herbicide resistance gene to facilitate selection in vitro.
