Regional canola update packages now available from Oilseeds Western Australia and the Ag Department
May 10, 2004

Regional Canola Update Packages have been released and are now available from Oilseeds Western Australia and the Department of Agriculture, or on the Department website www.agric.wa.gov.au as Farmnotes 48/04, 49/04 and 50/04.

The packages incorporate 2003 trial findings and adviser experience and are available for high, medium and low rainfall zones.

Each update covers variety choice, establishment, subsurface constraints, nutrition, weed and insect threats and harvest management.

As part of the Updates package, grower demonstration sites have been established across the wheatbelt at Buntine, Bindi Bindi, Northam, Brookton, Corrigin, Boyup Brook and Kojonup.

Regional Canola Updates are produced by the Department, with support from Oilseeds WA.

The Grains Research and Development Corporation supports them as part of its investment in agronomic solutions for profitable canola production in the western region.
