Dulaney Seed,
Inc., of
Clarksdale,
Mississippi, has signed an exclusive Territory Agreement with
AgVenture, Inc. and will market the AgVenture brand of corn and soybean
seed in
Northwest
Mississippi. Terry and Edwin Dulaney, co-owners of Dulaney Seed,
are graduates of Mississippi State University and are partners
in Dulaney Brothers Farms; started by their grandfather in 1913.
They have operated the farming operation since 1974 and have
been in the seed business since 1991. The Dulaney brothers are
third generation ag business leaders in Coahoma County and have
operated as a family farm with a 4th generation
entering the work place.
“Dulaney Seed
was born in 1991 as a sister business to the farm. Dulaney’s
have adopted new technologies quickly and use a conservative
approach as we make changes. The AgVenture Satellite is an
opportunity for us to market soybeans and corn to our
established customers. We feel that with our vast agricultural
knowledge of the region, we will be able to provide outstanding
varieties and service to our retail and wholesale customers,”
explains Terry Dulaney. “AgVenture provides a platform for
Dulaney Seed to advance our company from good to great. The
exclusive sales territory and opportunity to expand sales
territory affords us the controls to direct our company in a
direction that we feel is right for Dulaney Seed and our
customers.” Terry states, “We see this venture as the launching
pad for Dulaney Seed to build new value in our business.
Building a brand is exciting and challenging. We hope to make
AgVenture products and service another name for profit for our
customers.”
AgVenture
Seeds, founded in 1983, is the largest network of
independently-owned seed companies in the
United States.
AgVenture provides its network of 24 independent, family-owned
and managed companies with seed products that meet exacting
standards for quality combined with leading edge genetics and
technology. This unique marketing approach allows each
individual company to match the corn hybrids and soybean
varieties it sells to the specific needs of the geographical
area it serves. It also enables the entrepreneurs who own the
marketing companies to maintain their own inventory, set their
own pricing, and create their own marketing programs based on
customer needs that exist in their particular part of the
country. |
