Mycogen Seeds announced it is offering nine new grain corn hybrids, which are available immediately. The new lineup will feature a variety of insect and weed controls including Herculex^™ I Insect Protection, LibertyLink^® herbicide resistance, YieldGard^® Plus technology, YieldGard Corn Borer technology and CLEARFIELD^™ technology. One of the more notable releases is Mycogen’s first commercial hybrid that stacks Herculex I Insect Protection with Roundup Ready^® herbicide tolerance.

These new hybrids offer growers a variety of added protection options. Herculex^™ I Insect Protection, the only in-plant insect-protection trait registered for western bean cutworm, also protects against European corn borer, southwestern corn borer, black cutworm, fall armyworm and provides intermediate suppression of corn earworm. YieldGard corn borer provides whole-plant protection against European corn borer and southwestern corn borer, as well as suppression against stalk borer, fall armyworm and corn earworm. YieldGard Plus technology combines this plant protection with YieldGard Rootworm, which offers consistent control of western, northern and Mexican corn rootworm.

All of these new hybrids are available with Cruiser Extreme Pak seed treatment. This treatment is composed of seed-applied Cruiser^® insecticide and Dynasty^™ fungicide. Cruiser Extreme Pak helps protect germinating seed from damage and stand loss caused by insect and fungicidal pests and maintains the genetic potential, seed development and performance for Mycogen’s grain corn products. Cruiser Extreme Pak, along with these other protection options, will give growers crop plan flexibility and cost-effective control against insects, weeds and diseases that could potentially limit crop yield and profitability.
