World Wide Wheat, L.L.C.
(W3), a
Phoenix, AZ based plant breeding company specializing in the
development of high quality cereal seed varieties, and SJV
Seeds, LLC a recently formed company to specialize in the
production, processing, packaging and distribution of seeds in
California, have announced the appointment SJV as W3’s exclusive
seed producer and distributor in California.
Headquartered in Phoenix, World Wide Wheat is one of the leaders
in developing proprietary varieties of cereal seeds for both
grain and silage that are used in high input and high yield
production farming ventures globally. Through its breeding
staff, led by Senior Breeder, Rex Thompson, W3 has an enviable
record of successful variety developments for both U.S. farmers
and various regions and countries of the world. These varieties
include Platinum, Crown, Duraking and Topper which are all very
well known and timely given the production and disease
situations in CA at this time.
“I am very excited with this new association, which will
encompass the production and distribution of all W3 proprietary
varieties within California. I have wanted an experienced,
knowledgeable and aggressive representative with a successful
track record in California for a long time. I am proud to say
that this goal is accomplished thru this Agreement with SJV
Seeds,” said Sheldon Richardson, W3 chairman and C.E.O.
SJV Seeds, LLC was recently formed by Steve Leffler and Jim
Crisp, who combined have over 50 years experience in the seed
industry, both in California and internationally. With an office
in the Sacramento area and its production and distribution
facility in the center of the San Joaquin Valley, the company is
uniquely suited to serve the farmers of the state with high
quality seed products in a timely manner.
“Quality genetics, combined with the proper preparation of the
seed, deliver top quality and value to the farmers. I know that
World Wide Wheat has unrivaled quality products for this
marketplace. They consistently have developed varieties of both
durum and red wheat that have ranked at the top of the annual
California Crop Extension Trial results for both yield and end
use qualities,” said Steve Leffler, C.E.O. of SJV Seeds.
Jim Crisp, President of SJV Seeds, said “This opportunity falls
directly in line with Crisp Warehouse’s goals and objectives of
identifying the unique needs of the cereal grain and wheat
silage industries within California and then providing products
to fit those needs. W3’s vast genetics program gives us an
untapped resource from which we expect to introduce many new
quality varieties to the farmers, dairymen and millers of the
California agriculture industry for years to come. This
association with W3 will allow us to provide these high quality
varieties to California farmers, produced and processed on a
local basis for the first time.” |
