Mycogen Seeds announces the
promotion of Joe Caroline, a 25-year veteran of Dow
AgroSciences, to the position of Canola Breeder. Located at the
company’s research facility in Breckenridge, Minn., Caroline
will be responsible for hybrid canola development, supporting
both Mycogen Seeds and Dow AgroSciences.
Caroline joins
the canola team at a significant time. Mycogen Seeds recently
announced the addition of Nexera 800 Brand canola varieties from
Dow AgroSciences to its product lineup for the 2005 growing
season. Nexera canola is the exclusive source for Natreon
canola oil – a natural, highly stable oil with virtually no
trans-fatty acids. Because of its many health and cooking
benefits, Natreon canola oil is in high demand among food
processors. The new canola varieties, available to contract
growers for licensed producers of Natreon canola oil, offer
growers a way to maintain profitable production while meeting
the demands of a health-conscious consumer market.
Most recently,
Caroline served as Six Sigma Black Belt with the Field Research
& Development group. Prior to that he was part of the company’s
sunflower business for 20 years, first as Sunflower Breeder and
then as Global Research Leader. Originally from Kenmare, N.D.,
Caroline received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science
degrees from North Dakota State University.
