Dairyland Seed releases new soybean varieties

Dairyland Seed recently announced the release of 16 new soybean varieties for the 2005 planting season.  Each of these varieties can be seen at research tours and field days throughout the Midwest this fall.  The descriptions of the new products include:

DSR-C900/RR              Maturity 009    tc "009 NEW  DSR-C900/RR"

Very early, attractive soybean variety with a tawny pubescence color featuring grain with a brown hilum inside a tan pod.  Provides excellent yield results on all soils including soils with tough iron chlorosis conditions as well as soils challenged with phytophthora root rot. DSR-C900/RR exhibits very good phytophthora tolerance and moderate resistance to brown stem rot. 

DSR-2501/RR  (SCN) Maturity 2.5      tc "2.5 NEW  DSR-2501/RR (SCN)"

Our plant breeders made the decision to offer this new soybean variety based on the combination of yield and “bred-in” plant protection.  This soybean variety offers you strong yield performance while delivering built in protection against cyst nematode concerns.  Excellent phytophthora field tolerance protection. 

DSR-2500/RR              Maturity 2.5tc "2.5 NEW  DSR-2500/RR"

DSR-2500/RR has stacked herbicide tolerance to Roundup and STS herbicides to give you a simple one-pass post-emergence tank mix option to control pesky weeds such as marestail (horseweed), lambsquarters and wild buckwheat.  A super strong yield leader.  This light tawny variety features brown stem rot resistance and outstanding phytophthora field tolerance in addition to incorporating the 1K gene to give you additional protection.  Very good iron chlorosis tolerance. 

DSR-2701/RRCX  (CystX® GOLD) Maturity 2.7            tc "2.7 NEW  DSR-2701/RRCX  CystX® GOLD"

Dairyland’s team of soybean plant breeders proudly brings forward this new CystX® technology to you to specifically combat cyst nematode.  The CystX® Gold level of protection is the highest level of protection recognized by Purdue University.  Target your severely infested cyst nematode acres with this new DSR-2701/RRCX soybean variety to protect your yield.  Excellent phytophthora field tolerance protection.

DSR-2800/RR              Maturity 2.8     tc "2.8 NEW  DSR-2800/RR"

DSR-2800/RR is stacked for tolerance to both Roundup and STS.  This product offers you an additional simple one-pass post-emergence tank mix weed control option that can tackle pesky weeds such as marestail (horseweed), lambsquarters and wild buckwheat.  Tremendous offensive yield firepower gives this new soybean variety the decisive edge when selecting the right product for your farm.  DSR-2800/RR has a beautiful plant appearance that incorporates excellent phytophthora field tolerance protection. 

DSR-2801/RR  (SCN)   Maturity 2.8     tc "2.8 NEW  DSR-2801/RR SCN"

Previously known as DST-2346/RR this new soybean variety gives you yield in field conditions that are stressed with problems like charcoal rot, brown stem rot, phytophthora root rot as well as cyst nematodes.  Widely adapted across all soil types let the new DSR-2801/RR soybean variety confront the complex environments that you have on your farm to deliver a winning yield.  Position this soybean variety in its recommended maturity zone. 

DSR-2900                    Maturity 2.9     tc "2.9 NEW  DSR-2900 "

Brought to you because of its sheer yield power, this new soybean variety delivers the answer for the non-GMO grain market.  Known as DST-2344, the new DSR-2900 is versatile across soil types and aggressive when it comes to yield.  In some markets DSR-2900 may qualify for additional non-GMO premiums.  Light tawny plant with excellent standability. 

DSR-2901/RRHP (SCN-HP)      Maturity 2.9     tc "2.9 NEW  DSR-2901/RRHP SCN-HP"

A beautiful tawny plant with excellent standability, this variety has an HP designation behind it to reflect a different breeding approach to address and ensure yield protection in those cyst nematode soils that contain Races 1, 3 and 5.  Targeted to replace DST-3148/RR, our plant breeders have used the Peking (HP) parental source of resistance to provide a solution for farms with this Race 1, 3 and 5 cyst nematode challenge. 

DSR-3000/RR              Maturity 3.0     tc "3.0 NEW  DSR-3000/RR"

DSR-3000/RR is stacked for tolerance to both Roundup and STS herbicides.  This product offers you an additional simple one-pass post-emergence tank mix weed control option that can tackle pesky weeds such as marestail (horseweed), lambsquarters and wild buckwheat.  Hot, new soybean variety with exceptional yield strength!  Exceptional phytophthora field protection in the form of excellent tolerance as well as 1K specific resistance.  Provides resistance to brown stem rot as well.  An attractive, light tawny plant that is a workhorse across all soil types and a racehorse for yield!

DSR-3002/RR (SCN)    Maturity 3.0    tc "3.0 NEW  DSR-3002/RR SCN"

This soybean variety carries a strong disease and cyst nematode package and is a complimentary companion with Dairyland’s DSR-301/RR and DSR-326/RR.  Diversify your farm’s soybean acres with a different genetic background that provides strength in the form of phytophthora field tolerance protection and 1K gene resistance, brown stem rot resistance and cyst nematode resistance. 

DSR-3100        Maturity 3.2     tc "3.2 NEW  DSR-3100 "

The best yielding conventional soybean line we know of in this maturity!  Featuring the best tolerance rating for phytophthora of all the new Dairyland soybean varieties offered, you will want to manage this variety for maximum yields.  Is believed to be one of the highest yielding varieties ever developed.  In some markets DSR-3100 may qualify for additional non-GMO premiums.

DSR-3500/RR              (SCN)   Maturity 3.5     tc "3.5 NEW  DSR-3500/RR   SCN"

An extremely consistent, high yielding soybean variety that shines when harvest time arrives.  A cyst resistant product offering that delivers terrific phytophthora protection in the form of strong tolerance and specific 1K gene resistance.  This light tawny plant is widely adaptable across all soil types and gives you a definite yield advantage. 

DSR-3501/RR  Maturity 3.5     tc "3.5 NEW  DSR-3501/RR "

Super high yielding soybean variety we had to make available to your farm.  Strong yield potential from a gray plant type that shines at harvest.  Strong phytophthora root rot tolerance.  Strong yield capacity in light, medium and heavy soil types.   

DSR-3600/RR Maturity 3.6      tc "3.6 NEW  DSR-3600/RR"

Awesome yield strength in a beautiful light tawny plant.  This soybean variety has been developed by the Dairyland Seed soybean plant breeder team with one goal in mind…industry-leading grain yields for a 3.6 maturity soybean variety that is Roundup Ready.  DSR-3600/RR has demonstrated consistent, high-ranking yield marks throughout our research trials.
