Fontanelle, Nebraska
April 5, 2004
“The Fontanelle Hybrids company
website at
www.fontanelle.com has been completely redesigned,” Steve
Pike, sales manager said. “We’ve made it quicker and easier for
our main audiences to get to information critical to their
needs.”
To achieve this, the information is grouped under four main
headings—People, Products, Programs and the Farmer’s Tool Box.
“Most of our customers want to know one of three things when
they visit our site,” Pike said. “They want product information,
how to contact a local company representative or to look up
harvest results in a specific geographic area or on a particular
product. The new design allows them to zero in immediately on
the information they need.”
This is achieved by grouping all of the necessary information in
one place. The previous set up had product information in three
or four locations. “Now it’s all under the Products heading
which makes it easier for customers to make hybrid selections,”
Pike said.
“Besides being more efficient, the new design allows us to
specifically cater to the needs of targeted groups of people,”
Nick Lammers, webmaster and central regional sales manager said.
“For example, our dealers are able to very quickly find sales
forms, inventory information and other specific items needed for
the success of their dealership in a password protected section
meant just for them. Now the dealers know to go to the directly
to the dealer section to find new information of interest to
them.”
“We’ve also added a special section for Crop Consultants,”
Lammers said. “It’s been a big hit with area agronomists because
they know that all of our research information on herbicides,
insects and disease tolerances on our hybrids are located in
their section. Plus we added a link so they can go directly to
the harvest results database to check the performance of our
products.”
“It’s all about making it easier to do business with
Fontanelle,” Pike said. “Customers often tell us that one of the
things they appreciate about working with is the friendly
helpfulness of our people. We want to make sure that when
visitors are at our website we are continuing that sense of
helpfulness by having the needed information available and
easily located.”
“Our goals for the future of the website is to continue to
enhance the information available on-line and to make it a live
interactive tool,” Lammers said. “We are working toward a live
interface with our computer system so that dealers, customers
and sales staff will be able to have instant access to live
inventory, product and account information. This will enable us
to do an even better job of ensuring that our customers get the
hybrids and grades sizes they want.”
