September 23, 2003

It is with deep sorrow that we inform you that Bill Bunn passed away suddenly on September 20, 2003 in Woodland, California at the age of 51 due to a heart attack.  He was preparing to depart for a trip to Argentina and collapsed in his home.

Bill joined Cal/West Seeds in May of 1978 in field production department. Over the course of his 25-year career with the company, Bill served in numerous capacities including operations manager and production manager. Bill was promoted to Assistant Vice President of International in July of 1999.  In that capacity he was responsible for the companies sales and marketing efforts in Mexico, Central & South America, Australia and New Zealand as well as proprietary private label sales in California.  Bill loved his job and was dedicated to the health and future of Cal West Seeds. He enjoyed traveling and meeting people from different cultures and countries.

His wife Teresa, son Billy and daughter Becky survive Bill.  He was active for many years with the Greater Davis Kiwanis club, and more recently with the Boy Scouts of America.  Bill will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him; his family, coworkers and friends.  He was a great dad, husband and son, and loved nothing better than spending time with his family in the outdoors, hiking, fishing, or just having a good backyard BBQ at home.  He loved a good story, joke, or song, and could always be counted upon to bring up people's spirits, and to see the lighter side of things.

Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Saturday September 27th at the Presbyterian Church in located at 1324 Columbia Drive in Woodland, California.
