Emergent Genetics Inc.,
the owner of L. Dæhnfeldt A/S, has decided to sell Dæhnfeldt's
activities on the Flower Division, inclusive of Frisa A/S and
the research station Danefeld to Sakata Ornamentals Europe A/S
for acquisition August 29, 2003. Employees and facilities will
be transferred to Sakata Ornamentals Europe A/S and outgoing
activities are planned to take place over an agreed period of
4-6 months.
In the future L. Dæhnfeldt A/S will solely be in
sales, production and breeding of vegetable varieties. The head
office of the activities will be at the present address, and
warehouse, cleaning and office facilities will continue as at
present. Research and development facilities will be continued
in the area around Odense to the same extent as today, but in
other and not yet agreed facilities.
Dæhnfeldt's product range has in the last few
years obtained a competitive level, and results for the global
market are extremely good, which is very encouraging for future
growth. The promising products include first of all Spinach,
Cucumbers and Brassica.
Dæhnfeldt will proceed with the work to achieve
priority status within selected products and markets by means of
a focused research in Denmark and abroad. Sales and marketing
will be further intensified to strengthen our global network of
distributors, representatives and producers being the customer
portfolio of Dæhnfeldt.
Emergent Genetics Inc. have after their
reorganization decided to integrate Dæhnfeldt in the future seed
company as a strategic partner in the ongoing development of
Emergent Genetics Inc. Cooperation with the global seed
companies of Emergent Genetics Inc. is a significant
strengthening of Dæhnfeldt.
