Philom Bios Inc. of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and AGROTAIN International LLC of St. Louis, Missouri, are pleased to announce that a Marketing Agreement has been reached that transitions the responsibility for distribution, sales and marketing of AGROTAIN® Nitrogen Stabilizer in the Canadian marketplace to Philom Bios Inc. AGROTAIN International LLC will continue to market AGROTAIN® products within the turf, forestry, and livestock nutrient management markets in Canada.

AGROTAIN® is used in surface applications of urea and UAN solution to stop the nitrogen loss process called volatilization. Research from around the world shows surface-applied urea or UAN sources can lose up to 30 percent or more nitrogen within 24 hours. AGROTAIN® stops nitrogen volatilization for up to 14 days and reduces volatilization losses for up to 28 days, protecting urea based formulations.

Research and grower experience with AGROTAIN® has also shown an excellent fit for increasing seed and crop safety when used in seed banded applications of urea and UAN. With the rapid increase in adoption of direct seeding, growers are looking for solutions to maximize their efficiencies around nutrient management and seed placement.
