Dairyland Seed announces new corn releases

Dairyland Seed Co. Inc. recently announced the release of 19  new corn hybrids for the 2004 planting season. Each of these varieties can be seen at research tours and field days through the Midwest this fall.  Descriptions of these new products follow:

78 Day Stealth-1476 Strong yields in this hybrid with flint background.  Features very quick emergence and early grain set-up.  Also has excellent grain quality and high test weight.  Reaches black layer early, and adds more yield than Stealth-1473.  Excellent grain quality, high test weight.

84 Day Stealth-1685An exciting early dent hybrid with consistent high yields across all environments.  Features rapid drydown, excellent roots and a good disease package.  As DST-8411 averaged 20 bushels more yield in 2002 strip plots  – including 178 bushels on the William McCluskey farm near Glenwood City, Wisconsin.

91 Day Stealth-7191This hybrid features both the YieldGard Corn Borer trait and the NK603 Roundup Ready event.  Fabulous yield potential with excellent stress tolerance.  As DST-9312RRBT in 2002 strip plots, it averaged 20 bushels higher than the plot average.  Yielded 207 bushels in the Bruce Wussow plot near Alexandria, MN.

91 Day Stealth-4191The YieldGard Rootworm version of Stealth-7191.  Our earliest YGRW hybrid.  Featuring top yields and stress tolerance.

92 Day Stealth-1692
Outstanding yield punch with large flex ears and fast drydown.  Strong performance overall, particularly west as it is taking out P39D81 by more than 10 bushels although 1 point wetter.  Also outyielding P3893 by more than 10 bushels although a half point drier.

94 Day  Stealth-5194
Entered as DST-9414, this YieldGard Corn Borer (YGCB) hybrid finished 1st or 2nd in eight strip plots averaging 25 bushels better.   Yielded 221 bu/a. on the Tom and Denise Bauer farm near Fall Creek, Wisconsin. Shows outstanding yield potential with early vigor, ear flex and staygreen.

94 Day  Stealth-4194
Stealth-4194 is the YieldGard Rootworm (YGRW) version of 5194.  It combines corn rootworm protection with outstanding yields.

97 Day  Stealth-4497
A YieldGard Rootworm version of Stealth-1497 with the same strong yield potential and excellent agronomic traits.

97 Day   Stealth-5497
A YieldGard Corn Borer version of Stealth-1497.  In research trials it outyielded P36N70 by 5 bu/a., was 1-1/4 point drier with better stalks.  Also showed a 5 bushel yield advantage over N32L9Bt with better stalks.

102/100 Day Stealth-4101
A YieldGard Rootworm hybrid related to, but earlier than Stealth-1503.  It  shows solid yields and excellent stalks.  An excellent early season hybrid and a nice choice for no-till planting.  Also shows good gray leaf spot tolerance. 

103/102 Day Stealth-5104
A top yielding YieldGard Corn Borer hybrid with strong stalks and roots.  This hybrid combines staygreen traits with a large showy ear and excellent grain quality. As DST-10424Bt it topped five GENI plots in 2002 averaging 20 bushels better with a top yield of 217 bu/a. at Ron Regenscheid’s farm near St. Peter, Minnesota.

107/104 Day    Stealth-4606
Stealth-4606 shows the same strong, consistent performance of Stealth-1606 but adds the YieldGard Rootworm trait.

109/106 Day    Stealth-4609
This is the YieldGard Rootworm version of Stealth-1606, one of our top selling hybrids. It is adapted to virtually all soil types --  moves south well.

111/108 Day   Stealth-4611
The YieldGard Rootworm hybrid version of Stealth-1611. Terrific eye appeal as it features large, girthy ears consistently down the row.

111/108 Day   Stealth-6611
The Roundup Ready version of Stealth-1611 with the NK603 Event.  Outyielding Pioneer hybrid 34M95 by 2 bu/a. in 354 reps of data.

111/108 Day  Stealth-5611
The YieldGard Corn Borer version of Stealth-1611.  Outyielding Pioneer hybrids 34M95 and 34B23 by 9.8 bu/a. in 765 reps of data.

114/111 Day   Stealth-6113
A high yielding, consistent Roundup Ready hybrid with the NK603 Event.  It shows a 5 bushel yield advantage over P33B50 yet is nearly ¾ point drier.  Shows superior stalk and roots to other hybrids in this maturity.  This hybrid outyields Stealth-1013/RR by 8 bu/a. and features high test weight.

115/112 Day    Stealth-5112
A girthy eared YieldGard Corn Borer hybrid with excellent yield potential.  Has shown very good standability and very good stress tolerance.  In our trials is currently showing a 9 bushel yield advantage over P35Y55 with better stalks and better roots. 

115/111 Day   Stealth-4515
A YieldGard Rootworm version of Stealth-1515.  Performs very well under stress conditions across various soils.
