July 11, 2003

Danson Seed Company has hired Ing. Crisoforo Castro Torres to manage product development and technical services in Mexico. Ing. Castro will be based in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Most recently he has been working for INIFAP in Culiacan. His responsibilities there included conducting and evaluating the EXPO AGRO field trials, phytopathology, and data analysis.  As a result of this experience, he is already very familiar with Danson products and those of the major competitors.

Ing. Castro will be conducting screening trials for Danson experimental and semi commercial varieties throughout Sinaloa and in several other states. He will also be conducting field research for Danson's Ground Culture Tomato program. The Ground Culture Tomato Program is focused on the development of new round and saladette varieties designed for single pick ground culture. Ing. Castro will be working on development of new cultural practices designed to significantly lower the cost of export quality tomato production and to also lower harvest costs. This is a continuation of pioneering work Ing. Castro has been conducting at INIFAP over the past season.

Danson Seed is expanding its commitment to developing new cutting edge technologies for the dynamic Mexican vegetable market. Ing. Castro will be working closely with our market research and breeding staff to assist in product design and development of testing protocols. He will be in charge of Danson's introduction Fusarium Race 3, and TSWV resistant tomato varieties.
