The
Guelph Food Technology Center has joined forces with
CropVerifeye, LLC &
BCI Marketing Partners Inc. in Canada to provide the Canadian
agri-food sector with efficient, affordable quality assurance
and identity preservation systems.
“Combining the capabilities of
the SQF (Safe Quality Food) HACCP Quality System and
CropVerifeye’s web based information platform makes so much
sense, particularly at the on-farm level, says Kathryn Cooper,
Vice-President of Client Services and Market Development. The
farming community is being inundated with food industry and
government requirements for monitoring and auditing of
production activity. The combined SQF/CropVerifeye platform has
flexibility and capability for accommodating on-farm food
safety, quality assurance, identity preservation, environmental
management and traceability requirements in an efficient and
affordable manner. Implementation of the combined platform could
offer participating farm groups and industry partners
substantial benefits, as well as take them to a new level of
recognition in international food markets.”
“Organizations around the world
are changing the way they do business to address a growing set
of food safety, food security, environmental management and
trade issues says Richard Broadwith, BCI Marketing Partners Inc.
This combined system ensures real time, on-line, documented and
transparent proof of due diligence, which is essential in food
production, processing and export marketing. CropVerifeye and
GFTC are the forefront of creating and facilitating this new
field-to-food certification category.”
