The Golden Harvest Agronomy Up Front Program® has had the opportunity to test the YGRW technology since 2000 under an Experimental Use Permit. According to Dr. Kevin Barber, Director of Agronomic Research for Thorp Seed Co. of Clinton, IL; "We have tested YGRW corn on an area heavily infested with corn rootworm larvae. The efficacy of this technology was compared to that of soil and seed-applied insecticides." Results show a strong advantage with YGRW over conventional hybrids with insecticide.

The introduction of the YGRW technology provides the peace of mind of knowing that this technology is working throughout the larval feeding period. A producer eliminates the risk of handling an insecticide, and unlike insecticide treatments, YGRW protects the whole root mass.

The grain will need to be channeled to a feedlot or an approved elevator. Growers will be required to plant a non-YGRW refuge.
