Fontanelle, Nebraska
August 18, 2003
As a growing company in a business with complex inventory and
processing needs, Fontanelle Hybrids, Fontanelle, Nebraska
needed more space and additional equipment. It found it next
door to the existing Fontanelle Fremont Production Plant.
“We’ve been needing additional warehouse space,” Dave Monke,
production manager said. “Plus we’d been looking at adding new
soybean processing equipment, including a new tower. And, with
the new seed applied technology that is coming into the market
right now, we have been looking at adding a new treater, but
didn’t have the room for it in our existing facility. By
acquiring the property next to us that had been used as a seed
facility, we were able to accomplish our goal of expansion and
to have a good starting base for our specific seed handling
needs.”
As one of the top 35 seed companies in the
United States, Fontanelle continues its commitment to provide a
full line up of seed products to its customers. This means that
new products, new product types and new seed treatments are
entering the current offerings to customers at an extremely fast
pace. “This year alone we are introducing 28 new products in our
corn, soybeans and sorghum product lines,” Steve Pike, sales
manager said. “Introducing new products at this pace involves
production issues from growing the seed all the way through
processing it up to our quality standards and then maintaining
that quality with proper warehousing. By purchasing the nearby
Fremont production plant from our neighbors, JC Robinson Seeds,
Waterloo, NE, we are ensuring that we can continue to provide
our customers with the quality Fontanelle products they’ve come
to trust.”
