Golden Harvest member company, JC Robinson Seeds, is pleased to announce the expansion of its’ plants in Waterloo, Nebraska and Belmond, Iowa, as well as the sale of its’ plant in Fremont, Nebraska. Additional bulk storage, warehouse space, and conditioning equipment will be the focus of the expansion. Steve Schmidt, Vice President of Operations says “This expansion is very exciting and will certainly help deliver the kind of exceptional quality our customers have grown accustomed to”.

Rob Robinson, Executive Vice President says, “The sale and expansion are absolutely win scenarios for the Company, community, and JC Robinson Seeds’ customers”. Mr. Robinson went on to explain, “It’s a win for our Company in that all Fremont employees will continue to work in nearby Waterloo. It is a win for the community, in that with a new owner of the Fremont plant comes the opportunity of having an established Fremont business expand within the city. And finally, Golden Harvest customers’ win with the continued service and top quality products they have come to expect from JC Robinson Seeds”. 

Senior Vice President, Doug Robinson said “It is important to note that while the expansion in Waterloo and Belmond will cover most output from the Fremont Plant, the balance has been moved to our European facilities. Fremont has long been used to process smaller lots of seed for our European market. With the recent purchase of European interests and continued concerns about biotechnology in the EU, seed for that area is now produced outside of the U.S. Therefore, the relocation of these assets made perfect sense”. Doug Robinson adds, “We are especially pleased that all Fremont employees will remain part of our family”.
